Equity’s Investment Funds team provides an array of experience, education and expertise. This team has been educated in the United States, Canada, The Bahamas and the Far East and has produced a number of CPAs as well as MBAs, with experience in North America, Europe and Asia. Their experience cover numerous sections in the financial services industry and steams from 10 to 35 years.

Michael Dean, CPA

Managing Director

Since 2012, he has served as the Vice-President of Investment Fund Services Department of Equity Bank And Trust Bahamas Ltd. He was accepted as a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (1987) and the Bahamas Association of Compliance Officers (2005). Mr. Dean began his career with over ten (10) years in audit, accounting and internal control expertise in the financial services arena in The Bahamas, with Deloitte & Touché and later Ernst & Young, including stints in the Caymans. He later served as Chief Financial Officer for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Bahamas (CIBC Bahamas Ltd.), assisting with transitioning from a branch network of the Canadian Parent to a publicly traded company on The Bahamian Stock Exchange (BISX). Prior to joining Equity, he spent the previous fifteen (15) years in Swiss private banking, primarily in The Bahamas, with periods in Geneva, Switzerland. During this time, he has served in numerous capacities including Chief Financial Officer, Risk Manager, Senior Official II (reporting to the Central Bank), Vice President of Investments, Operations and Accounting dept., Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting & Prevention Officer for this boutique Swiss institution. He is a 1984 graduate of the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada. He is active in the community in the areas of youth development, sports and social outreach.

JOVITA PARUNGAO, CPA

Senior Assistant Vice President, Fund Accounting

Jovita graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy. She is a Certified Public Accountant and is experienced in the areas of financial audit, internal control reviews and accounting. She has handled clients from the financial services, manufacturing and non- profit industries.

Jovita completed the Series 6 course from the Securities Training Institute and has been with Equity Bank and Trust Bahamas Ltd. since 2012.

CARLENE BURROWS

Senior Assistant Vice President, Fund Administration

She has over 10 years’ experience in the financial services industry and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. She currently serves in the Administration Dept. responsible for Investor relations and communications.

REMYLEN MONREAL, CPA

Senior Assistant Vice President, Fund Accounting

Remylen is one of the pioneers of the Investment Funds Services Department of Equity Bank And Trust Bahamas Ltd., formerly Equity Trust Bahamas Ltd. She has over 10 years of experience in accounting and auditing which has greatly helped in growing the investment funds area of Equity.

Prior to joining Equity, she was an Internal Audit Officer and Tax Analyst of United Coconut Planters Bank, a commercial bank with 188 branches in the Philippines. In addition, Remylen graduated Cum Laude from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy and has completed the Series 6 Program.

MIRIELLE CAMBRIDGE

Senior Assistant Vice President, Fund Administration

Mrs. Cambridge has held various management positions within the financial services industry since the beginning of her career in 1995 and currently serves in the Administration Dept. with responsibilities for Investor relations and communications.

DELPHINO GILBERT CASSAR

Head of Business Development and Fintech

Mr. Cassar is an innovative and driven professional with an eye for efficiency, business growth and cutting edge financial technology. He has a strong background in finance stemming from a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and a Master of Liberal Arts in Finance from Harvard University. He is also a full-stack web and mobile app programmer. He has worked in several capacities throughout his career inclusive of, but not limited to, asset management, investment funds administration and accounting, trusts services business development, multi-currency private banking, corporate services and software development. He lives by the motto "Life is meaningless unless we use our talents and abilities to improve the lives of others". His passions are creating the technology platforms that improve processes, financial literacy and solving problems instead of accepting the status quo.
